The 1960s brought a new character into play, the hippie generation changed America's future generations with the different lifestyle they lived in. The hippie movement started out in the early 60s and had brought another war. The movement started out on the east coast and ended up on the west coast in California to get away from the control of parents who wouldn't let their teenagers express themselves. Hippies were known for breaking boundaries and testing limits.The hippie movement had involvement in the peace protest for the Vietnam war. Also hippie culture expanded the outlook on drugs and music for young teens. During the hippie era many hippies hopped on v w buses and escaped the life of a typical teenager to a hippie. Hippies loved rock and roll music. Usually hippies could only talk about music to their friends and not their elders. Elders thought rock and roll music was to loud. music festival was the summer of love in 1967 San Francisco where everyone had been doing drugs, hanging out and listening to music. It was a popular event to be at then if you were a young person. People protested during this event also. Many celebrities also supported hippies like Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin and the The Beatles. Some examples of psychedelic rock songs are Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds by the Beatles, Purple Haze by Jimi Hendrix, and Summertime by Janis Joplin. Hippies were very into to psychedelic rock lifestyle and the artists that I stated are popular for their music for writing there songs about psychedelics. Change in music was a big part of the era of the 60s especially with the help from young hippies listening to rock music. It changed society for the better because teenagers and young adults could start being their true selves and they weren't pretending for anyone. Woodstock another hippie event was on a big farm which hosted many hippies across America. Hippies also danced they had a free flowing like rhythm when they danced. It was unique.Also events like Woodstock one of the last hippie music events was very crowded because everyone wanted to be there and feel like a hippie cause the hippies were getting shut down and wanted to celebrate their lifestyle one last
