Hip-Hop today and hip-hop back in the days are two altogether different things. Hip-hop, or if nothing else the foundations of it, should be more than only a song to individuals. It was more than only a cool sounding beat under some graceful words. It was somebody's life being told through a tune, somebody's battles, or whatever metaphorical picture the individual needed to paint for his gathering of people.
