The original purpose of Hip-hop music was to dance at get-togethers and other occasions like birthday parties or dances. It all first started on August 11,1973, DJ Kool Herc, a building resident, was entertaining at his sister’s back-to-school party. This kind of music led to an entire cultural movement that’s altered generational thinking- from politics to race, art, and languages.
