Christianity Versus Hinduism “I want to love all the children of God- Christian, Jew, Moslem, Hindu, Buddhist- everyone. I want to love gay Christians and straight Christians” (Anna Rice). Various religions are practiced all over the world and are practiced in many different ways. In some places, everyone has the right to practice which ever faith he or she believes in, although in some countries, individuals are forced to practice the religion in which their culture believes. Out of roughly 7.5 billion people in the world, around 2.2 billion are Christians and 1.1 billion are Hindus. Christianity and Hinduism are two religions that have been around for thousands of years, the two religions have developed thoughts on subjects that can be compared or contrasted to show the differences or similarities. …show more content…
Christians generally worship in a church, a chapel, or a cathedral; however, Christianity can be practiced anywhere where two or more are gathered. Practicing Christianity includes praying to and worshiping the one and only Father, and begins with accepting Jesus Christ into your heart as your savior. Faithful Christians follow the means of The Holy Bible, with the two most popular versions being the King James Version, and the New International Version. Christianity was found in Judea (present-day Israel) about 2,000 years ago. Hinduism is the oldest religion in the world. Hindus believe in many gods, but realize they all come from Atman. A temple is generally where Hindus worship by meditation. Religious Hindus follow the means of the Vedas and Upanishads, the Bhaguad Gita, and the Agamas. Even though Hindus follow the means of the Vedas and Upanishads, the Bhaduad Gita, and the Agamas the religion has no set way of teaching.
