Hinduism is a religion with such a profound history. This belief system originated so many years ago and to this day there are still many people practicing this faith. Almost all Indians, I believe, can trace back an ancestor who possibly followed this religion at some point, therefore it is essential for us to know a little more about this faith and gain a greater appreciation for it. By researching Hinduism, I believe my eyes have grown more for the beauty of this religion and I definitely have a much greater appreciation for it. First, Hinduism is one of the world oldest existing religions. It traces back to almost 5,000-10,000 years ago and it is still a popular religion today. It amazes me how Hinduism is the third most popular religion in this world. It has been around for so long, yet it is still staying strong as a popular religion. Followers of Hinduism are, appropriately, labeled as Hindus, and unlike most world religions, there is not a single founder of Hinduism. It’s a mystery to me that there is no specific origin for it; I learned that Hinduism is, rather, described as a way of life that has always been around and given modifications by different saints of this faith. Although there is no evidence of the founders of Hinduism, there is evidence that it originated in India. The majority of Hindus are, respectively, from India; approximately 85% of Hindus live in India and the other majorities are seen in Nepal and Sri Lanka. This history of Hinduism fascinates…
