Hinduism and Buddhism Buddhism and Hinduism were the two most popular religions in Classical India times. Buddhism and Hinduism are fairly different in how they originated, and in their beliefs of enlightenment achievement, and are similar in their religious beliefs. Both Buddhism and Hinduism are both similar and different, both coinciding. The origins of Buddhism and Hinduism are quite different. Hinduism was originally brought about by the Aryans over 3500 years ago in the Vedic age, while Buddhism was created by Siddhartha Gautama around 563-557 B.C.E. Another difference in their origins was who brought them about. Hinduism's creator is unknown and is credited by no one in particular, but on the other hand Buddhism's founding is credited to Siddhartha Gautama, an Indian prince who came to question Hinduism's beliefs. This was important because the origins of the religions can directly reflect upon the religions themselves. Buddhism and Hinduism origins were about as different as they could be.

Hinduism as well as Buddhism both stressed the importance of living moral lives and non violent lives. They also both believed in reincarnation, and both thought that animals were sacred. A divine being of some sort existed in both of their realms of beliefs as well, with Hinduism believing in many gods, and Buddhism believing in no gods, but an all powerful spiritual being.
