As we learned, Hinduism is one of the oldest known religions, based in India and Nepal. Hinduism has no particular founder or holy book. Followers of Hinduism hold many beliefs in many Deities, or Gods, and the desired path is for moksha, or liberation. It manifests many cultural beliefs and traditions. Through our personal encounters and educational teachings we have the awareness of a culture of individuals who identify themselves as homosexual. Homosexuality can be viewed as a culturally deviant behavior. It “can be described as the orientation and inclination of a person to have sexual relations with a person of his or her own sex” (Thappa, et al., 2008).
