Hillary Clinton's Political Career

Decent Essays
Hillary, it is time to disappear in the dark abyss never to return again. Because your political career is dead, just as much as your political machine. But to start the year with a bang let me finish by saying this. Let's talk about feminism. Hillary Clinton is crowned the fighter for women and the person who has broken the most glass-ceiling for women. But Hillary didn't start her career by herself. She needed a man, Bill Clinton, to start her career. She would have never been a political contender if it was not for Bill Clinton. Yeah, I guess that is what feminism is today. People like Sarah Palin, who the left calls a bimbo (so tolerable and understanding, right) actually started her own political career by herself. She did not need a man

According to Steinem, Clinton and other qualified female candidates could not use the same style as Obama or Bill Clinton. If they did, they would be considered too emotional. There is no ”right way” for a woman to be in a powerful public role without being considered a “bitch.” Steinem declares her support for Clinton over Obama because Clinton has “no masculinity to prove.” She writes about her concern that Obama was seen as unifying due to race while Clinton was seen as divisive about gender.…

She cannot do anything without the media scrutinizing how she presented herself instead of what she actually said. The media also tries to frame her accomplishments through Bill’s life. By saying, “Hillary is only a politician because of Bill’s affair,” the media is trivializing her accomplishments and directs the attention back to the lives of men. Also, people like Sarah Palin, who appear “hyper feminine” are not taken seriously in politics. She was constantly called a ditz, as if beauty and knowledge cannot mix.…

First Lady of the United States, United States Senator, and Secretary of State are some of the titles that have been attached to Mrs. Clinton over the years. However, after her defeat in the 2008 Democratic Party primary to political neophyte and eventual President, Barack Obama many believed that the curtain had come down on her political career. Nevertheless, Hillary Clinton with such tenacity told us to never count her out. Before the election had started, there were calls from all around the Democratic Party’s establishment for her to run, which was tantamount to an anointment as the true successor of President Barack Obama. However, there were those of us who felt that Clinton represented the past, the politics of triangulation, and the character of a chameleon -- someone who would say whatever to achieve her poorly masked goal of sitting in the Oval Office as President of the United States.…

Unlike Clinton, Fiorina has a clean slate in the political realm; this is attractive to many supporters (Livengood & Nann Burke, 2015). During the Republican debate, Fiorina was quoted saying, “if you want to stump a Democrat, ask them to name an accomplishment of Mrs. Clinton’s” (Team Carly for America, 2015b). Ironically, later in the week, Fiorina praised Clinton calling her, “smart, hardworking, and giving it all she’s got”. More importantly, Fiorina…

While in U.S. Congress, Senator Sanders has maintained a consistent record of progressivism and loyalty to the people. Sanders has voted against the debacle which was the Iraq War, against bailing out the Wall Street banks, against the Patriot Act and its reauthorization, against offshore drilling, and has supported gay marriage since the 1970s (Vote Smart). After all, he was an activist during the Civil Rights Movement, and was even arrested for protesting racial segregation in Chicago in 1962 (Jilani). Hillary Clinton shares not one of these attributes, for she has voted with every aforementioned issue and has only supported gay marriage since 2013 (Vote Smart). This is a vital difference between the two.…

I believe Clinton has been in office for several years, meaning she know what she is getting into. Determination and persistence were an integral part of Hillary Clinton character. Her life will always be fascinating and would serve as an example of dedication and commitment to others. (Blumenthal, 2016). In addition, I support Clinton proposals but I am still unsure of the truth or the lies that are involved in this election.…

“We must not be anything other than what we are.” – Maaza Mengiste Identity politics refers to using the interests of certain groups for political benefits. This has always been a topic of concern and with the presidential elections outcome, some people believe identity politics affected voting patterns and the result. In the articles “The End of Identity Politics” by Mark Lilla and “The Dangerous Myth That Hillary Clinton Ignored the Working Class” by Derek Thompson, the authors talk about what identity politics is and the greater impact that it has on us. One being a self-declared liberal and the other a journalist disappointed by the election results, both authors openly display their views on the anticlimax of the event.…

NEWS RELEASE: Barr blasts FBI decision not to proceed against Hillary Clinton Former U.S. Attorney Finds FBI Statement Naïve and Passive From my perspective as a former U.S. Attorney representing the Northern district of Georgia (appointed by President Reagan) whose office conducted numerous high profile public corruption cases including prosecution and conviction of a sitting member of Congress and numerous other officials; having served 8 years on the Judiciary Committee and as a manager of the 1999 Senate trial of President Bill Clinton after he was impeached by the House: the FBI’s conclusion that its investigation gives them “reasonable confidence” that there’s no “intentional misconduct” by the Clinton team seems rather naïve at best. Overall, the statement is passive and chose a clear disinterest in proceeding to recommend charges be brought against Clinton even though they admitted finding her in violation of “a federal statute making it a felony to mishandle classified information either intentionally or in a grossly negligent way.”…

The Reign of the Feminist “True equality means holding everyone accountable in the same way, regardless of race, gender, faith, ethnicity - or political ideology.” (Monica Crowley). This is especially true for women are beginning to be a true power in this world, with women becoming CEO’S of companies, and running for major offices. People need to realize that times are changing in the twenty-first century for women and today feminism is required to be successful in job fields like politics where women are taking a stand and becoming more assertive, in the home where single mothers who work are still producing children who help society, and in the workplace, where women still need to make a stand to make the same pay and have gender equality.…
