Hillary Clinton is one of two candidates of the Democratic Party to be nominated as the 45th President of the United States of America, and if she can win the election on November 8th, 2016, will go down in history as the first female President of the United States. Her major opponent, the Republican “outsider” candidate also known as business mogul Donald J. Trump, has claimed many times that Hillary Clinton “is unfit” or “incapable” of holding the office of the President of the United States because of all the scandals and controversies that she is and was involved in, during her time as Secretary of State, Senator of New York, and First Lady of the United States of America. As a return to Donald Trump’s claims during one debate, Hillary …show more content…
According to Glendale Community College, the card-stacking propaganda technique is when you “manipulate information to make a product appear better than it is, often by unfair comparison or omitting facts”. In this case, the “product” would be Hillary Clinton, as she runs for the office of the President. The card-stacking propaganda was both a positive and a negative resource for Clinton’s campaign team to use. The card-stacking propaganda technique was a benefit for Hillary Clinton because it elaborated on what beneficial things she has done for, not only the United States, but also the rest of the world. Osama Bin Laden was an international warlord who became a Wanted man in the United States, and Hillary Clinton was able to assist the military in, as Madame Secretary Clinton would put it, “bringing him to justice”. However, using the card-stacking propaganda technique also has a backlash effect. Because of Donald Trump’s little experience with politics, it is difficult for Donald Trump to compare himself with Hillary Clinton, and the positive things she has done for the United States, relaying back to the “unfair comparison” portion of this propaganda technique. Overall, the card-stacking propaganda technique was more beneficial than it was detrimental, because of specifically, the issues that are affecting more and more Americans every day, and how Hillary Clinton has done, at least something to change the effect on American

Under the veneer of praising Donald Trump in the title of her essay – “The rhetorical brilliance of Trump the demagogue” (Mercieca, 2015), Jennifer Mercieca explores Trump’s rhetorical strategy to rally the American public into supporting him in spite of his offensive rhetoric. Using Donald Trump’s December 7 Statement on Preventing Muslim Immigration (Trump, 2015) as an example, Mercieca puts forth this essay to explain Trump’s “profound and persistent appeal” (Mercieca, 2015) through demagoguery in his speeches. The presidential race will soon be closing, and with this deadline fast approaching for the candidates, they are making any advertisement they feel they must in order to bolster support for their campaign. This includes slander campaigning, which is an advertisement that attacks the opposing candidates’ policies and credibility. When these advertisements are well produced, they are some of the most effective campaigning tools that are available to the candidate. This is because “We pay more attention to negative information. It’s more salient, it scares us, and we’re more likely to remember it” (Phillips).…

Many politicians use propaganda during election season and unlike propaganda in history, propaganda today rely heavily on the internet, social media, and news outlets. During the 2016 United States presidential election Donald Trump used social media a lot to share his ideas to the public and even discredit opposing presidential candidates. He also had different forms of propaganda like the slogan “Make America Great Again”, and like other candidates they went to different cities in the U.S. and spoke publicly about their vision of what they want to accomplish during their presidential term when they get elected. But the highlight of this presidential election was how Donald Trump used social media to convince the citizens that he is the right candidate and that his ideas will make America a better country. Another example of propaganda is the “Black Lives Matter” motto, it inspired many people in the United States to start peaceful protest like taking a knee during the national anthem in an attempt to end racism in the world.…

Hillary Clinton is the first woman to ever win the nomination of one of the two major parties. This seems to be the main reason why she believes that she should be president. Instead of focusing her campaign on policy issues, she has made the whole thing about “making history.” This approach to the election is eerily similar to the strategy that Barack Obama used in 2008, where he distracted the voters from the real issues by using the “race card” and the notion of electing the first black president. Hillary has done the same, except she is using the “woman card” instead of the “race card.”…

In an essay from the course text, “Propaganda: How Not to Be Bamboozled” the author describes how it works, “The plain-folks appeal is at work when candidates go around shaking hands with factory workers, kissing babies in supermarkets, and sampling pasta with Italians, fried chicken with Southerners, bagels and blintzes with Jews” (Cross). This is exactly what Trump did, during the many rallies he held he made it clear that he was not a politician, just a business man who wanted to fix the…

Argumentative Essay – Presidential Election This 2016 presidential election is by far the most important race in American history. Although every election year is categorized as the most important election, it is usually a tool to get more people out to vote. However, this year is the first year that the white house is an open seat where “there is no incumbent running for President in this election” ("Why 2016 May Actually Be the Most Important Election of Our Lifetime"). This means that there will be a new acting president and vice-president this January.…
