Throughout American history, many people have worked to positively impact the lives of American citizens. Hillary Rodham Clinton, like many others, is an influential person who has accomplished this. As a Senator, First Lady, and Secretary of State, she has worked alongside other politicians to achieve great things. Throughout her lifetime, she has been an influence to many people through her dedication in working for our country and her values and beliefs.

As a leader of our country, Clinton has worked very hard to benefit the citizens of America. Helping the veterans of America receive better health care is a clear example. According to a press release from Senator Lindsey Graham´s office, Hillary Clinton worked with Senator Graham, in her time as Senator, to provide healthcare for veterans. The greatest example of her perseverance is in the 2016 Presidential Elections. Democracy Now! states, “Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has made history by becoming the first woman to accept a major-party presidential nomination.” [Democracy Now!, July 29, 2016] Her perseverance definitely came into play for this accomplishment. The Sun reports that, “Donald Trump descended to insults during the Las Vegas TV debate, calling Hillary Clinton a ‘nasty woman’ and saying ‘I have heard nasty things about you.’” They continued reporting that, “‘You're the one that's unfit,’ Trump said to Clinton.” [Zoe Nauman, October 20, 2016] Throughout the election, Clinton received a plethora of criticism from her opponent and the media. Although the criticism was hurtful, Clinton persevered through it, and she continued on to make history.
