Presidential Candidate Contrast: Ben Carson vs. Hillary Clinton “Always vote for principle, though you may vote alone, and you may cherish the sweetest reflection that your vote is never lost.”-John Quincy Adams. Electing the next president of the United States is one of the most important rights of each American Citizen, and one that should not be taken lightly. In order to make an informed decision it is imperative to research each candidate throroughly by using credible sources. It is also important not to be swayed by the assault of misleading information which is sure to arise during the upcoming political campaign. Two of the most popular candidates are Hillary Clinton and Ben Carson. Following are some of the contrasts between these candidates ideologies in reference to important issues that are currently affecting the United States. Hillary Clinton strongly believes that abortion is a woman 's unrestricted right. She strongly agrees with legally requiring employers to hire women and minorities and strongly supports same sex marriage. Concerning religion, she disagrees with keeping God in the public sphere. Overall, Carson is far more conservative than Clinton concerning individual rights, domestic and economic issues. Furthermore, Clinton defeats Carson in political experience. She has served as an elected official for a total of eight years (which is seven years less than the average 2016 presidential candidate,) but significantly more than Carson, who has never held an elected office. All things considered, both candidates have extremely impressive professional backgrounds. They both attended the prestigious Yale University, in addition to being highly successful and well respected in their careers.
