Hillary Clinton Immigration Policy Case Study

The immigration policy of Hillary Clinton, a current presidential candidate has an achievable and beneficial immigration plan for the U.S. It will move our nation forward and repair a broken immigration system. Clinton has three steps to her immigration plan. She wants to enact comprehensive immigration reform to create a pathway to citizenship. She wants to keep families together, and enable millions of workers to come out of their shadows. Her plan and policies can help change, and make a positive impact on our country and immigration system. Clinton believes that every illegal immigrant should have the opportunity to come out of the shadows about their status. They should not be criticized about coming to America to try to start a better …show more content…
With people migrating and having children here, every so often their parents are deported for varying reasons. Some even get split up so the Mom and children can have a better life in America while the husband stays back and works. There are very many ways that families can be split up or separated because of immigration and deportation. If there was an easier way for documentation, families could stay together. No family should be separated because they are looking for a better life. Clinton 's plan has very good intentions, and could help reconnect hundreds of families. No child should be left behind and no mother or father should have to leave their children. This policy would help undocumented immigrants be more successful. In Just Like Us when Yadiras mom was deported it made things really hard at home. She could barely focus in school and was very sad. Yadira was on a successful path, she was going to Denver University and getting good grades. It was very hard on her, and it wouldn 't have been if her mom was …show more content…
There are many issues that could get in the way, and ideas that may not be successful. Donald Trump on the republican sides believes that we should build a wall and send all the immigrants back to where they came from. Kasich responded. “We don 't have enough buses to put 12 million people on a bus, ship them to the border and yell ‘Get out,’.” Even though the immigrants are illegal get rid of all of them is not the best idea. I can see how opposing views don 't like the thought of making it easier for illegal immigrants to come through and have it be okay. We are paying for their health care because it is a right for every person to have. Since they are undocumented they are not paying into it and are still getting the care they need. There are also many problems with taxes. Yes, there are many undocumented immigrants who do pay their taxes and do things the right way. There are also ones that do not which is not fair to the people living in the country legally. Kasich does not believe that the immigrants should get off hands free. I see why he thinks that it should not be allowed for more illegal immigrants to come through, because we should not reward for illegal actions. “We can seal that border and anyone else who gets over, we send them back,” said Kasich. If we seal the border and make it harder for them to come over illegally, we need to make it easier

Supplementing her uplifting advice, Zoe Lofgren revealed the government’s current attitude toward problems such as that of immigration. As an advocate for immigration reform, she believes that the immigration laws of today need complete change. She stated that Trump aims to deport immigrants without documentation who have either committed a crime or have filled out I-9 forms with false information. However, these two categories make up 100% of the immigrants currently living in the United States undocumented, making it impossible for him to deport all of the illegal immigrants due to their immense numbers. I fully agree with Zoe that the government needs to change the immigration laws, as they are unreasonable given the amount of immigrants and the fact that many of these immigrants simply want security by living in the nation.…

Now if they want to come here legally and follow the law, great,” he added. “You and I both come from immigrant families who followed the law.” shows his stance of allowing more immigrants to be admitted to the United States.…

Hillary Clinton states that “Democrats believe we need to urgently fix our broken immigration system—which tears families apart and keeps workers in the shadows—and create a path to citizenship for law-abiding families who are here, making a better life for their families and contributing to their communities and our country” (www.demconvention.com). “We should repeal the 3-year, 10-year and permanent bars, which often force persons in mixed status families into the heartbreaking dilemma of either pursuing a green card by leaving the country and their loved ones behind, or remaining in the shadows” (www.demconvention.com). The 3-year, 10-year and permanent bars “impose re-entry bars on immigrants who are present in the U.S. illegally for a period of time, leave the U.S., and want to re-enter lawfully” (www.americanimmigrationcouncil.org). Democrats seem to take into consideration that they have good reasons for coming here, sometimes that is overlooked. Republicans, on the other hand, want to make the process longer.…

The Democratic view on immigration is based on the idea that the United States is a country based on immigrants, and as such it should value and support its present and future immigrants. They believe in providing a path to citizenship for illegal immigrants, especially those who were brought here as children. They wish to greatly reform the current immigration laws. Democrats do not believe that just any illegal immigrant should be provided amnesty or a path to citizenship. They say that undocumented workers who are in good standing must admit that they broke the law, pay taxes and a penalty, learn English, and get right with the law.…

Argumentative Essay – Presidential Election This 2016 presidential election is by far the most important race in American history. This means that there will be a new acting president and vice-president this January.…
