Introduction
Being a feminist during this 2016 presidential race can be overwhelming. It raises many questions and concerns such as: should a woman vote for Clinton because she’s a woman, or because she is seen as qualified by and represents the voter. I am intrigued in knowing where feminists fall on the spectrum on their support and approval of Hillary Clinton. Therefore, I will analyze three pieces of literature relating to this topic within this paper. The first is a website article, You Can Be a Feminist and Not Support Hillary Clinton by Sarah Mirk. Tasha N. Dubriwny is an assistant professor in the Department of Communication and the Women’s and Gender Studies Program at Texas A&M University, and her work is on the rhetorical legacies of second-wave feminism in both political and health frameworks (Dubriwny, 2013). Dubriwny has various publications, including a book, teaching experience in her field at two universities, has given presentations at conferences on topics related to her research interests as stated in her curriculum vitae in the Texas A&M University Department of Communication’s website (TAMU).
