Hill Crest: A Short Story

Decent Essays
If at the end of my second day of school at Hill Crest, you were to ask me “Hey, what’s middle school like?” . I probably would have said that it was breeze, I was loving having more than one teacher and having that tiny little four minute breather in between classes. As far as the difficulty in my classes I wasn't having a problem at all. But, If you were to ask that same question now my answer might be a tad different. My response to your question would probably sound a little bit like this ; I really like it, but sometimes it gets on my nerves when i'm on one side of the building and have to go all the way to the other side and get my stuff for the next class, that little four minute period is absolute chaos now that I have different supplies

After almost one-hundred and eighty days, the 2015-2016 school year is approaching an end. So far, I have concluded that middle school is basically like building a house. Before middle school started, in fifth grade, the house only had the boards and the main skeleton of the whole structure. All of the basics are learned in elementary school: learning how to read, multiplication, division, addition, subtraction, fractions, the founding of America,, etcetera, but by the time students reach sixth grade, new knowledge builds onto what is already known. Letters are added into the familiar math equations; stories are written with all of the reading and grammar knowledge; unfamiliar people, wars, and awakenings add onto the history of America.…

In 2006, I began my journey at The Valley School as a first grade student. Moving over from my previous school, which I had attended from the time I was three until I was six years old, was fairly smooth. I had friends who made the switch with me and, being the social butterfly I was, making new friends was a breeze. In the first few years as a student, I saw Valley move into three buildings.…

Education is one of the most valued components in society. It was not until the Reconstruction Era after the Civil War that educational reforms began. However, it is concerning that public schools in the 21st century still follow a framework developed in the early 1900s. The current society has drastically changed in their values, culture, and overall modernization in comparison to the society of the early 1900s. According to What Every Middle School Teacher Should Know, by Dave F. Brown and Trudy Knowles, the structure of an average school day was based off the average factory workday.…

The good thing about this schools that I like is will motivate the students and tell them what exactly what to do also the teacher would help and see what every student is doing but the only thing is that the teacher do not gives any ideas to students when a students are not sure about an answer for a question. Also the teacher does not have the control of the classroom when students get noisy or get up from their desk. Some students are noisy and annoying and it’s very hard for a person to deal with so many students at the same time when they are noisy. I remember back in the days in high school some of the student were noisy and annoying or just throwing papers and it was hard for a teacher to take the control of the class. She just called the securities from the school to take them out the class.…

My first day of middle school was hell, I have always been good at school. My grades have never been bad and neither have my actions and or attendance. Probably from having a mom that is also a teacher. I look at that as a good thing though, watching kids just goof off and not come to school then high school rolled around and it was like I got to look down on them because they did not prepare for bigger and better things. School wasn't bad for me because it was hard, it was bad because i was always shy in school.…
