Hildegard of Bingen (also known as The Sibyl of the Rhine and Prophetissa Teutonica) was born to Hildebery and Mecthild von Bermersheim around the year 1098 (the exact date is unknown). She was born in Bermersheim, Germany. She was the youngest out of 10 siblings. Since she was her parents 10th child they decided to give her to the church when she was eight. From the day she was born Hildegard was a sickly child. She had visions about major Biblical and religious texts that she only told to two people and documented them in her Scivias.
