Hilary Clinton and Donald Trump tend to use different speaking styles than each other. The general speaking styles and catch-phrases of each candidate are very different from one another. Donald Trump tends to interrupt a lot and also have an aggressive tone which can be very frustrating when he was speaking at the debates against Hilary. Hilary has a lower key tone and is very much patient when it comes to speaking to Donald Trump which is why she hardly interrupts in most of her debates. We will be focusing on the difference in both candidates and the way they use language to fight their way to the top.

Compare and Contrast: We both noticed that when it comes to speaking their minds they don’t hesitate to do so. They both have powerful approaches on ideas they want to change. During similar periods of anguish for America, the two speeches “Speech in the Virginia Convention” by Patrick Henry, and “President Bush Outlines Iraqi Threat” by former President George W. Bush were expressed. Henry’s speech was given to persuade the colonists to go to war against Great Britain, which would come to be called the Revolutionary War. Bush’s speech was given after the tragedy of 9/11 to discuss how going to war with Iraq was needed to keep America safe and secure. The men used similar pathos, rhetorical questions, and loaded language when trying to persuade the people of America that going to war was needed for the sake of freedom Some might say that the two speeches are also rhetorically dissimilar and that is true.…

I find his mannerisms a bit odd as the country today is more divided than it was all during the Obama administration. I do agree with some points in Trump's speech, such as the quote "Americans want great schools for their children, safe neighborhoods for their families, and good jobs for themselves. These are just reasonable demands of righteous people and a righteous public. " I agree that everyone has a right to safety and happiness, but I do not agree with Trump's proposition to put "America first", as many countries are in situations way worse than America is. Just because a problem isn't affecting you, doesn’t mean it's not a…

As Lester Holt introduced the candidates and the debate, the rhetorical approach pathos was used before the candidates even opened their mouths. Hillary Clinton had a warm inviting facial expression as she entered the stage, as to where Donald Trump looked stuck up and had a disgusted look as if he didn’t want to be at the debate. Continuing on with the pathos appeal, Clinton demonstrated it by saying, “he would start his businesses with 14 million borrowed from his father and he really believes that the more you help wealthy people the better off will be and that everything will work out from there” then stating how she doesn't buy that and talks about her experience saying, “my father was a small businessman he worked really hard he printed drapery fabrics on long tables…” she then states that, “I believe the more we can do for the middle class the more we can invest in you, your education, your skills, your future, the better we will…

After watching the debate, I would say that Clinton had the stronger argument. She had supported her arguments concerning gun legislation, abortion, and immigration with statistics as well as personal testimonies, which improved her credibility and allowed her character to be relatable and trustworthy. For example, on the topic of gun legislation, Clinton had related to the masses by conveying her understanding of those who wish to maintain their gun rights. After establishing this trust with the crowd, she had proceeded to refer to the events concerning gun violence as well as the amount of lives destroyed.…

This characteristic or quality consists of an upfront attitude. Trump is not one to back down from another person, and he has certainly shown this in Republican debates. Evelyn McKenzie, a reporter for CBS Miami News, writes “I think he’s very up front, he’s very politically incorrect in many of the things he says, but at least he’s honest and that’s what people want” (Scouten). Americans are looking for a leader who makes his own decisions without having to rely on Congress for assistance. Although some of the things Trump has said have in fact been politically incorrect, which will be discussed later, it still shows that he would bring a “say anything” approach into his presidency, which further proves his inability to back down to anyone or anything.…

Trump markets himself as a businessman and not a politician; in his campaign announcement speech Trumps keeps referring to himself as the “right guy,” the guy who is going to make America great again. Trumps wants to instill and, more importantly, bring out the skepticism in the public; he claims that America has been brought to near ruin because of the incompetence of America’s current leaders. He attacks and belittles politicians as seen in his speech when, after discussing America’s debt to China,”How stupid are our leaders? How stupid are these politicians to allow this to happen?”(Trump, Donald. “Our Country Needs a Truly Great Leader”Trump Tower, New York City.…

Trump’s views are of course for aligned with Conservative America, meaning he wants to bring back lost jobs from China, Mexico, etc. He also wants to put a tariff (a tax) on all goods from China. Lastly, he wants to be rid of Obamacare, but he has not stated what he would replace Obamacare with. Bernie’s views are on the other hand may seem a bit outlandish, but still possible.…
