As a freshman entering high school, I was a three-sport athlete and had aspired to play at the varsity level. I had long visualized being under the Friday night lights in front of a packed stadium with my classmates rooting me on. However, my coaches told me I needed to “add more meat to my bones,” if I wanted to play varsity sports.
