Highlander Stadium Research Paper

Standing there on the street, I stood staring up to a hundred giant football players walking by me. As I held the rope that the football players walked through, I stretched out my hand to try and high five as many of them as I could. One… two…three…twenty-seven…twenty-eight…twenty-nine! Each one of them pranced by while the drum line marched them on to the beat of the fight song. Standing there looking up at the enormous football players, I avidly wondered what it would be like to walk through this crowd to go play at Highlander Stadium. But for now, I stood on the other side of the rope, too young and too fragile to be one of them.
Every Friday night, I sat in those stands at that magical stadium as I cheered on my favorite team with my dad. I always got there an hour early so I could take in the ambiance. Sitting in the semi-empty stadium, I watched as the players trickled out of the locker room to begin warming up while the stands started to fill up with students, parents, the band, the cheerleaders, and the belles. There is something special about being alone on that patch of turf. Kicking out on that field, ball after ball, with no one watching except myself gives me a feeling of freedom and security that I cherish. I always feel a connection with the beautiful turf, the yellow field goals, the stands, and the net behind the field goal, which keeps me from chasing all of my balls. Workout after workout in this place of mine has caused me to be forever engrained in it. My sweat is forever soaked into the turf, my blood is a stain on the ground, and my cleats have left an imprint of my path. The amount of time I have spent unaccompanied on this field at Highlander Stadium has caused me to appreciate how much it means to
