Minimum wage is legally the lowest amount of money allowed to be paid to employees. High minimum wage has its benefits such as an increase in economic activity, but there are also bad things that could happen if the wages was increased like a cutback in hours and workers. A higher minimum wage will not lift those in poverty out of poverty, it will only make things worse, it will lower employment rates, cut hours for people that need them, and put unskilled workers at a disadvantage. Most people think if we raise minimum wage people working for any minimum wage job will be benefited from the effects.
