College education should not be a privilege but a right to all Americans, “We are moving in exactly the wrong direction in higher education. Forty years ago, in some of the great American universities and colleges was virtually free. Today, the cost unaffordable for working class families. Higher education must be a right - not just wealthy families,” (Sanders). Getting a high school diploma was a essential to contribute into society, “since the late 1800’s, the United States government made is possible for public education from kindergarten through 12th grade free” (Sanders). College students, in need of a college diploma for the future; are needing a college diploma for today’s society “ just over 43 million who borrowed money owe $1.2 trillion in student loans” (Stephen M. Smith). Countries like “Germany, Finland, Norway and Sweden have free college education. This allows them to have a strong economy and employment rates are low” (Trace 01:39:00). Instead of giving out billions of dollars to students in college tuition, “they could use that money to subsidize public college tuition and make it free” (Bryce Covert).
