Higher Education Bernie Sanders Analysis

My friend Anna came to America because she believed that she would receive a better education than that of her home country, Nigeria. Instead she found that it was better in resources but relatively the same in the academics. The teachers and teachers alike mocked her for her accent and she did not feel as though she really knew what she was supposed to do once she left high school. America is widely known for being a “dreamland” , where everything is bigger and better but it is not the case.The children spend most of their time around their teachers and begin to have relationships with them each year. The picture is that you go to elementary, middle, and high school , then move on to college or the army. Since most scholars do not want to fight, most want to opt out for college instead. The problem is that most Americans are only middle class citizens and cannot cover the tuition. Bernie Sanders, is an American politician who is an advocate for the government giving young adults the chance to attend, and have free tuition, higher education schools. In Sanders opinion, Getting an education should not be based upon financial readiness, but instead how much you work and focus to achieve goals should be what is important. In an opinion piece written by Sanders he wrote that "everyone who has the desire and the ability should be able to get a college education regardless of their background and ability to pay." meaning that whether or not you are not financially stable should not matter in the presence of a quality education. One will never truly know what to expect when attending their freshman year of college. They just hope that their hard work will pay off and that they will eventually graduate. A Documentary called the “Ivory Tower” examined the pros and cons of college education. The most pressing topic in the film was the question, “If my parents pay for a college education, is it really worth it?” If one stays out of college they must have a job or government benefits to keep them afloat. They have grown more mature. However, most do not know how to do much needed life skills. As an adult one must pay taxes, go to work, and try to achieve their dreams. Money is a huge part of life no matter how much one tries to get away from it. Financial management is one of the biggest problems in America. Former college student, Michelle Horton, has had her time struggling to actually grasp adulthood. When she graduated college she was already dealing with the struggle of pregnancy. She did not truly know basic financial management, such as being able to complete taxes, and some other life saving skills. If a person is not super rich then they probably will not understand many of these topics. Most administrators will say that the parents should be teaching their children how to do these things. In a parents eyes Horton says that they “have to learn them ourselves first.” Every individual needs these skills to be successful in life. Adults must pay taxes so that they will be able to not get thrown into jail. A online helper for education named Macmillan english, has the same idea of how life skills are indeed needed for life. “Having life skills is an essential part of being able to meet the challenges of everyday life.” This means that everyone needs to have life skills in order to succeed.Though high school and colleges do show students new perspectives while teaching them something new,
