High stakes testing is not a proper indication of a student’s success in life. Success is something that is acquired, or earned by an individual, not by memorizing information that predicts their future. To be successful, many short and long term goals are required. If a student’s parents do not push their child to be the best that they can be, there is not much for them to push off of to be successful and have to proceed on their own. Many parents are interested in seeing their child do well on tests, but the High Stakes Standardized Testing is not an accurate way to measure learning, and students that have difficulty testing, stress and struggle with these tests. A much more beneficial and more productive way to test an individual in school is “Sampling”. Basically, similar like tests, but fewer of them and less harsh consequences.
