My typical week consists of participating in various activities, ranging from school related, to home, and community service. At school, where I spend most of my time, I am part of of the Drill Team and Raider Team which requires me to stay after school usually one to two hours. Drill Team challenges me to execute movements fluently and look sharp. Raider Team is comprised of working in a team to overcome physical challenges and also improve overall fitness, this year we are dedicated on going to the Florida State Raider Competition, located in Lake Wales, FL. I am also engaged in sports, I have been on the track team running the 800m as well as being on the cross country team where we run 5k and long distance relays. I have been improving my times and always show up to practice with improvement on my mind. …show more content…
This club encourages group motivation and creativity by challenging us to come up with Chants to yell at the games and also grants us Community Service by staying after to clean up messes left behind by visitors. Another time I stay after school is for academics, some of my teachers occasionally host an after-school review before tests which allows us students if we missed a day or few to catch-up on what may become test material. I try to attend as many of these as I am able to, especially for my AP classes. Another academic related activity that is new to me this year, my AP Environmental teacher leads optional field trips where we meet a total of 4 times over the school year at a specified location where we may hike or take samples of the local ecosystem and observe the wildlife and study how it relates to what we are currently

As students at St. Charles Community College there are many opportunities to explore student life. With many options of activities that occur sporadically over the course of the year. Also there is a large number of clubs that are the most common ways of being involved at the school. There are groups for everybody, and for example the first week of September a group of students from the Global Student Network program at SCC put an event together called the Fall-fun Bitz. They coordinated with school groups and with some administration to create this awesome event.…

Extracurricular activities like the FFA and 4-H Organizations, help students, like me, gain experience in a variety of areas that will enhance our future. Through participation in these organizations, I have learned cooperation, teamwork and time management. By serving as an officer, I have also gained responsibility, as well as problem solving and communication skills. FFA has opened doors to new leadership roles at both a local and multi-county level. I have been given the opportunity to serve as Teutopolis Chapter and Section 20 Reporter and Vice President.…

    Club Rush Week Analysis

The week of August 24th was Club Rush week. The entire week I and anyone else interested in the prospective clubs gathered around all the booths and looked into our options. Surprisingly, most clubs seemed less an investment in hobbies and fun, and more invested in humanitarian organizations. Red Cross, UNICEF, Tree Huggers Club, and one specifically focused on helping our local youth. This seemed to be a nice reflection of all the kindness the students at Chino Hills had to offer.…

I am very honored to be invited to apply for membership to the National Honor Society. So many activities and experiences in my life demonstrate the key ingredients to be an outstanding member of National Honor Society. I love being engaged in school activities, such as band, pep band, gymnastics, vocal jazz, theatre, Swedish club, swimming, French Club, UWM Horn Choir, and I would like to join additional activities if I could. On a normal day, I come home at around 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and work very hard to receive good grades (4.0 GPA). This sometimes can be difficult because I participate in honors and accelerated classes.…

My sport hasn’t started season, yet I feel that there is no room for personal time. I wake up at 5 am to go to a 2-hour morning practice, then to an hour of weights and I have to rush to class everyday. When I am finally done with tennis related activities and classes, I have to go to tutoring appointments and start my homework right away, so I can go to bed at a decent time to be able to wake up early in the morning and restart my routine all over again. With my hectic schedule, I am constantly hopping from one place to another, hardly having any time to stop and have a conversation with a friend or sit down to eat a whole meal without the feeling that I need to go somewhere else. I am always tired, I have to get a decent amount of sleep, give my best effort in my sport and trying to keep up with school work.…

As a year-round student-athlete, balancing classwork and academics with training has been at the forefront of my entire high school career—freshman to senior year. Though the classes I undertook were rigorous and required an extreme level of commitment and attention, I persisted with my athletic career because it taught me several valuable life lessons. The sport I feel that I am most involved in is Cross Country. While only a fall sport, it is, in my opinion, one of the most physically demanding and difficult sports to compete in. We train by running upwards of thirty miles a week to compete against other teams in 5000-meter races on various terrains.…

Many students tend to join extracurriculars their friends join. Rather than picking the club that describes them as who they are, they drift towards activities that have more members or “look good” on college applications. When I was a freshman, I joined eleven clubs, signing up for whichever clubs my friends told me to. My email was filled with the dates of club meetings I could not recall joining. As the year progressed and I realized which clubs I had a passion for.…

I’ve always been told that the activities we take part in outside of school are just as important as our academics. Both allow you to build up the hard and soft skills needed in order to be an active participant of our society. In the past I’ve helped start clubs like the SAT club, that provided SAT prep to all students who wanted to get familiar with the test. At Bryn Mawr, I would like to contribute to the community by starting an American Sign Language Club.…

At my school, Early College Academy at Southridge, our clubs are student lead giving students the chance to show leadership skills and create community service projects for our clubs. In junior year, I created a club called the Rock ‘N’ Roll Club. In the club, the members appreciate the historic genre of rock and roll as well as enhance our skills in instruments and vocals. I created this club to give students at my school a chance to have an opportunity to try their hand at playing instruments they never get the chance to play, as well as improve their vocal skills with their fellow class members by peer critique, duets, acapellas and solos. This club has also host a school Valentine related concert where we show our fellow classmates what…

Clubs should be a fun option for all students. Instead, it has become a thing that many students loathe. When in school, some students decide to join a club or take part in an extracurricular activity, and others do not. Since the principal made the decision to enact the requirement for all students to participate in at least one extracurricular activity, many more families have been complaining to the School Board. Admittedly, many students love school clubs.…

Introduction For the observation of a school and community event, I observed Back to School (BTSN) at Van Ness Elementary School. Since I am a teacher at Van Ness, I had to observe the event as if I was a community member who knew nothing of the school. This allowed me to closely watch how teachers interacted with parents, their effort in welcoming all visitors and how they delivered important information. As I reflect on this experience and my knowledge about the initiatives, programs and policies at Van Ness, I started to analyze some of the school’s efforts and their needs in strengthening their school and family partnership.…
