School provides us with education, friendships, and opportunities on having success. A ⅓ of my life is getting educated. There are differences between middle school and high school. The new chapter of my life is going to high school and it is really different than middle school. The differences between the two are pretty major and are important. The assignments are more complicated than 8th grade. For example this is my first year doing essays often than once in awhile. This is a difference between them homework wise. Another difference is that I can use my phone. In my middle school, I can’t take out my phone; but now I could use it during free time. In my opinion this is the best change. I have to get used to or be comfortable with

In twenty years, as a board member of a scholarship selection committee, I would award the 17-year-old me a scholarship not because I am simply answering the prompt in my favor, but because I know that the 17-year-old me's dream is to go to college to gain a higher education and has made learning a high priority since elementary school. The 17-year-old me is determined, hard-working, and understands the struggle of having little money, so I would know that the scholarship would not go to waste; she would use it so that her parents can ease their worry about how she is going to go to college, since they are not able to make any contributions. Knowing that her family earns little income, she has spent most of her high school years dedicating her time to her schoolwork, hoping that she would be qualified to earn scholarships during her senior year. During the other majority of her time, she has volunteered for over 300 hours at various locations and participating in school clubs and activities.…

College Writing And Reading For The Incoming Freshman The transition between High School and University writing can be challenging to the ill-prepared student. In high school we might have gotten great feedback from teachers about our work: “great job”, “very good” etc, but in college our professors might comment differently most likely because they are searching for something different in college writing. Most often because professors expect a different style of writing than that of a high school class, such as a more developed opinion on the subject rather than a summary of what you researched. The most significant differences are visible in structure, research, argument, and format. In college writing, we move away from the standard…

Many teenagers spend around eight hours, five days a week at school. This is necessary because school educates and prepares students for life. To do this, most schools require everyone in an age group to take the same core classes. For many students that can seem boring or difficult, but most people agree that it is necessary because many students would not be well rounded if given free reign to choose their classes. On the other hand, this one-size-fits-all method does not allow specialization or any extra preparation for a specific career.…

I do think it is a good idea to provide a separate school experience for students in grades 6th to 8th. This is a crucial age group where many changes occur physically and emotionally. It is a growing period that is very different from elementary school and high school and therefore needs to be separate. Having middle school as a separate establishment allows for new experiences and help transition them into new responsibilities. There are many pros to middle school being separate from elementary and high school.…
