High School vs. College Everyone always tells you college is the best time of your life and that you should cherish every moment. Growing up, my parents always believed that college was a time not only to further your education but to gain intangibles as well. They would always tell me that it is a time to mature and get yourself ready for the “real world”. I never really understood how school could directly effect me that much, that was until I got about a year into college. I found that my friends, priorities, and my lifestyle in general changed a lot more than I would have ever expected. I had a group of friends in high school throughout the 4 years I was there and we were all brothers and sisters. I also liked to be social and was very energetic and passionate at school. My senior year, I was a student section leader and I kind of had a role because underclassmen would look up to me. I knew every single person at my school and considered most of them my friends. I thought that I would never lose the bonds I had with these people. My situation was a little unique when it came to college decisions because I came to UNOH and I did not know anyone that went there. I was very worried about making friends because I did not know anyone outside my own personal bubble.
