When it comes to being a student enrolled in high school or college, studying is imperative. Studying gives a student the opportunity to master a subject and to excel in class. While studying is crucial to the success of a student enrolled in high school or college, its elements are different for each. The amount of time it takes to study, the ability to find time to study, and the goal behind studying are all different when it comes to high school and college. Although high school and college students must both study to succeed, the ways in which they go about studying are not quite the same.

In high school, students are taught basic academics that prepare them for college level material. For example, a student in high school might have to take Algebra I and Algebra II in order to meet the requirements for College Algebra. The purpose of college is for students to obtain a degree that many employers require before they will consider an applicant for a job. Once a high school student makes it into college they begin to take courses to graduate in a specific area of study. This makes studying between both different, because a high school student will study to reach their next destination, while a college student will study to find a career.
