Over my high school career the extra-curricular activities I have been involved with have taught some valuable leadership skills. These skills include communication, motivation, positivity, trustworthiness, responsibility, commitment and flexibility. These leadership skill will be used to greatly impact my future. My high school volleyball career has taught me most of these skills. Communication is one of the very first things that I had learned when joining the sport. Communication is needed to be able to perform a successful play and score a point. Another leadership skill that volleyball has taught me is commitment. In school volleyball takes full commitment. I had learned the level of commitment this sport takes to be successful my sophomore year of high school. My team and I put work in every single day working towards our goals which truly paid off in the end with a sectional championship. Thirdly varsity volleyball has taught me positivity. Positivity on the court is an absolute must. Negativity will lead to bickering and anger. Positivity is a productive quality which can pertain to future. …show more content…
Also why these qualities are important characteristics of a leader. Trustworthiness will build excellent friendships with coworkers who will help and support you. The final two leadership skills i had learned were through high school. I had learned how to use motivation to be successful in all aspects. Motivation makes the work easier and is one of the best qualities i have adapted too. Finally, the last skill was also learned through high school.
