Did you know that over thirty six million children play sports a year? You may also not know that competitive sports are very beneficial for kids. They learn many things that can help them succeed in their futures. Some ways children get assistance from competitive sports are academic success, learning life skills, and robust living. From competitive sports children get many things they can benefit from. First let us look at how sports can affect a child’s academic success. In “Pros and Cons of Sports Competitions at High School Level” it says,” When applying to colleges, Regardless of collegiate location or status, most schools will review an applicant’s full four year transcript, which includes grades, course load intensity, test scores, …show more content…
Though, many children that do participate in sports will have that little advantage to get them into a spectacular college. Also in the article it says,” Kids who participate in organized sports do better in school.” While your child is having fun playing their sport they also may be receiving great academic scores. This can result in a better job and determination to try harder on and off the playing field, including school. It is very important for children to focus on school, as well as sports to have a better future. A last piece of evidence that proves how grades boost academic success is “Sparks People’s” article. Sports definitely give children a healthy living style they need. With all the electronics today it is important that children get their exercise and get a healthy lifestyle. One way this is shown is in “Pros and Cons of Sports Competitions at High School Level.” They state,” Involvement in sporting activities keeps children moving and engaged physically, vital for overall health and well-being.” This is significant because by being active in sports children will engage in a healthier lifestyle. A lot of foods today are made processed with tons of sugar and unhealthy items. Participating in sports helps because you exercise a lot more than someone who does not play sports. Your overall health will improve which is significant to the way you live. A second piece of evidence that proves sports can result in healthy living is in an article on “Livestrong” they say,” Physical activity can help ward off chronic diseases including cardiovascular disease, diabetes, cancer, hypertension, obesity, depression and osteoporosis, according to Sport and Development.org.” This shows that sports can result in healthy living because it can make your heart healthier to prevent diseases and further health issues.
