I continued to proceed with my plans to implement sports. More people became interested in pursuing sports because they wanted what I wanted. We had over 250 people out of 450 who were interested in having sports. First, I contacted Gil Garza, the athletic director, to ask if our school could participate with public schools. He rejected our offer because our school wasn’t part of a fetur system. A fetur system is a system where an elementary school feeds into a middle school; and a middle school feeding into a high school. Our school is a school of choice that was innovated four years ago, which prevented our school to participate with public schools. Our alternative plan was creating a league between magnet, leadership, and innovative schools. The next day, I contacted other schools to ask if we could create a league among each other. This would allow students to have the opportunity to express themselves through sports. Additionally, this will present viable options to scrimmage another public schools, demonstrating that other schools that don’t have a fetur system are capable of the same things as public
