The position I stand with when it comes to supporting sports or not in SUHSD is that I think that we should support sports. The source that led me to believe that sports are good towards academics is Daniel H. Bowen and Collin Hitt’s article High-School Sports Aren’t Killing Academics. They state that there's evidence that sports provide success in academics rather than just focusing on sports with lower grades. As for Amanda Ripley’s text The Case Against High School Sports is against having high school sports and says that our academics are not comparable to places like South Korea and Finland.
