Preston High School should not adhere to a school dress code because it limits self-expression, high initial cost and can be very uncomfortable. Students should not have to wear uniforms at school because students do not want to have to wear the same thing as other students or look alike. Kids like to be themselves and express the things they like or like to do. I think that the students at Preston High would not even like to wear uniforms because a lot of the kids like to wear what they want and show who they are and what they like to wear. Yes, some people say that school uniforms can be better so that you don’t have to worry about students wearing inappropriate clothing to school, but wearing the uniforms doesn’t allow the students to show …show more content…
The school also doesn’t have enough or wouldn’t want to spend money on buying uniforms for each student in the school so they are better off just letting the students wear what they want if it is appropriate. I mean it is better to see who someone really is instead of trying to make them hide it and then they are just unhappy. The students should not have to wear uniforms either because if they did then I believe the teacher would have to wear similar outfits too. If not it wouldn’t be fair and I doubt teacher would want to dress similar to their students. This is why I believe students should not have to wear school uniforms at Preston High. Adults should want to encourage kids to be able to show their true selves and not make them feel like they need to hide in a box. (Stephens) Kids should be able to be open and not have to hide any part of themselves from anybody. Uniforms will make a student or all students feel like they have to hide themselves from other students or teacher by not being able to wear what they want. No parent would want to spend money on buying their child something they wouldn’t want to wear. Kids would not want to wear uniforms to school because it is not something they picked out for themselves. There is also no way that Preston High School would want to pay tons of money for each student to wear uniforms to school. They also don’t even have the money to do that and wouldn’t have enough because kids would need to have different options. They might like to complain about what some kids wear to school, but they aren’t the ones buying their clothing so it shouldn’t be a big deal. The cost of school uniforms are just too much for parents and the school to pay for. For a male or female student to have a uniform for each day of the week and different choice on what to wear would cost a great deal of money. Yes, parents may spend lots of money on your clothes now, but at least it is something you like and actually want to wear. Parents buying school uniforms would be a waste of their money because it isn’t something you actually want to wear it would be something they would be forcing you to wear which makes you not want to wear it more. You would most likely have to buy new uniforms each year because you could grow from last year or they could change the color or just do something different about it.
