High School Senior Research Paper

On September 6, I looked at the mirror and marveled upon my transformation. Age has truly done wonders to my physical appearance. I’ve grown from a chubby, messy haired, and pimple faced eighth grade student into a slim, well groomed, and clean cut young man. Additionally, I pondered upon my intellectual, emotional, and social development. As an eighth grade student, I wasn’t very cognizant of the world around me. I had trouble socializing and couldn’t connect with another person on an emotional level. However, my development throughout secondary school has allowed me to become a mature, compassionate, and responsible individual.

I then asked myself, “What does being a high school senior truly mean?”

At last, I’m on top of the high school hierarchy. However, I hate to denigrate the fantasy that many secondary seniors experience, but, in my opinion, high school has very little meaning in the overall life plan. As seniors, we flock to purchase expensive tuxedos, or dresses, and use grade twelve as an excuse to indulge. However, everyone is required to attend secondary school, therefore why does our society place unusual amounts of value on walking across the stage during commencement? I’ve always thought that attending university would be much more rewarding than finishing secondary school. However, my perspective has changed since becoming a high school

Now that two months of grade twelve have passed, I’ve come to realize the importance of my last year of high school. For many entering the work force next year, this year represents the highest level of education for them. Consequently, we must celebrate the accomplishment of finishing thirteen grueling years of education. Moreover, this year will be the last time that I see many of my classmates. Therefore, it is important to leave a lasting impression that will remain in life’s

High school is a staple of American culture. Popular culture is littered with high school imagery: cheerleaders at the homecoming game, senior prom, and finally, graduation. It is a major time of growth for adolescents and serves as a stepping stone into the adult world, giving students the skills and experiences needed to be successful later in life. However our perception of high school and the ‘high school experience’ is rapidly changing as alternatives to traditional schooling appear. An excellent example of this is an emerging program commonly referred to as ‘early college high school’, a duel enrollment program that allows high school students to receive an associate’s degree while earning their high school diploma.…

This topic is not an unusual topic. In fact, this is a topic that will help me decide on what college I will go to and attend in my future. My topic is The Citadel military College of the South or its only other competitor Norwich University. It does not necessarily matter where I attend school because no matter where I go I will be enrolled in the ROTC program at either school. In this research paper the items that I will be talking about are things that I have learned from either being talked to about or that I have read online about the colleges.…

From the time a five-year-old steps into their first day of kindergarten till the day they graduate from college, they will hear “you are our future, our next generation, the people who will change things” from elder ones. If the next generation is our future, would that consider a senior in high school to be more valuable than a senior in college in society? If the new generation will bring more excellence, knowledge, and a different outlook to the way things are to insure a better tomorrow, the youngest would hold the most worth. In high school, seniors are the ones who rule the school, and is believed that they will be our next line of doctors who will find a cure for cancer or save our planet from global warming.…

What do electives do for your child when you send them to school? NOTHING!!! When you send your kids to school in the morning all they do is there 3 main core classes and then they got to electives. Middle schools today should not make electives a part of a regular school day because it would help kids get better grades, schools would save money on less teachers, and kids wouldn't be as tired in the morning. Looking back, I realized that high school wasn’t as bad as I thought. Sure I had really bad days, but all of the good ones made up for it. I did Polynesian Club for two years; my freshman year and my senior year. I regret not dancing throughout high school, but I’m glad I still got to do it my senior year. It was mostly because I was already involved with theatre.…

Middle school is the toughest school to go through both mentally and socially. People often dread going through middle school, or as my parents call it junior high, because at that time, people are in the balance between childhood and adult hood. Now, I was starting middle school, this should be great. (sarcasm)…

Oxford Dictionary says that commencement is “the beginning of something.” We as a class today will commence our lives past childhood, a beginning of something that will take us places in our lives, a beginning of something that is somehow more important to the world than our childhood. In the rest of the years of our lives, some of us will travel the world, start businesses, or save lives through the medical field. Others will teach students who will take our places, predict the weather, or be paid housekeepers for other people.…

Senior Year My greatest memory so far in my eighteen years of being on this earth is without a doubt my senior year of high school. It was absolutely unforgettable. My senior year as a whole (which was just last year) was the most fun I’ve ever had in my life and the happiest I have ever been. When I was a chubby little freshman with glasses I thought to myself that high school would be one of the longest time periods of my life and that four years would feel like forty years. But man was I wrong, high school went by in the blink of an eye.…

When entering junior high, we were constantly reminded by teachers, parents, and school administrators how different it was from elementary school. It was supposed to be the start of a transition from childhood to young adulthood, and though I discounted many of these sentiments at the time, looking back it certainly was. In an instant, it seemed, everyone started swearing and the hallways began to smell of a putrid mixture of not enough or too much cologne. For the first time we had to change before gym, no one really sure whether it was more socially acceptable to change in a bathroom stall or feign confidence by doing it out in the open. Talk swirled of who got their periods, who was wearing what bra size, and which boys needed to stop cultivating…
