I have spent my past four year attending Cutler Bay Senior High School, being that I am part of the first graduating class I have contributed enormously to my school. Over my four year all my honors and accolades have accumulated greatly. Academically I have done fairly well in the extremely challenging school I am enrolled in that does not offer any classes below an honors level. I have also greatly excelled in the sports my school has to offer, sports such as Cross Country and Water Polo, achieving captain for both teams and placing for best Cross Country runner at my school. My freshman and Sophomore I played football for a nearby school, Southridge Senior High, because our school did not offer sports at the time. Being an Athlete has taught me many things, one of which was to become a leader. My Junior year I was recognized by my school for my leadership and rewarded me with a Star …show more content…
I also became the president of the BeHip club at my school. In my four years I set a goal to make my school different from others and I believe I accomplished that mission by creating fun annual events such as the Freshmen Lock-in, Jingle Bowl, and Shark Week. Last year I also had a great opportunity to lead a group of fellow classmates to create a solar powered car for FPL and then after put it into competition against other school around Florida, taking first place in the time trials.
I believe that if I am blessed to get this scholarship It will take a big burden of me and my mother’s shoulders, coming from a family where money does not come easy I have had to work hard on everything I have ever done just so my mother would not spend a single dollar on my when I further my education into the college level. This Scholarship would greatly help me in my dreams of becoming the first in my family to attend an education beyond just high
