High School Research Paper

“You won’t realize it, but high school will be the best years of your life,” everyone says, but I beg to differ. I recently visited my local high school and chills ran over my body. You are not a little kid anymore; the teachers and staff actually trust you and give you more responsibilities. Even though there are a bunch of things that I think about high school on a daily basis, there are three things that come to my head more than others: getting lost, more freedom, and failing. To be honest, when I hear the word high school my first thought is “oh my gosh, I’m going to be totally lost.” I am a five foot two, fourteen year old girl, getting lost is pretty easy for me. When I am walking with a group of teenagers that are about a foot taller than me, it is hard to see over them; anyone that has this problem knows it is easier to just walk with them then trying to cut through them. Most teachers let the students roam around the halls after classes. There is almost no place in the school that you can’t go. Also, you can get a pass to anywhere. Most teachers let people eat in class, and to be honest who doesn’t like to eat in class. BYOD isn’t as strict; as long as you don’t abuse your privilege and disrespect the teacher. The dress codes aren’t as strict either, so you can basically wear anything that isn’t too revealing. On the other hand, the teachers load you with homework on top of homework each night. The teachers also expect you to finish projects in two days. Obviously, there are some serious ups and downs to your high school
