Schools It’s a place that is filled with dread, rarely any joy. It will be a place that will always be remembered by everyone, whether for the good things, or the bad things. Anyone and everyone can feel the energy being sucked right out of your body as you walk through the two front doors. It is filled with many yawns, from the children that lack the proper amount of sleep. Seven hours or boredom every Monday through Friday. It’s a struggle to stay awake through all the boring lectures and whatnot. Almost everything in that place provides little, or none, entertainment. The entire school is put into one hallway, so you have to wait like 5 hours just to go from class to class. Also, the school was cut in half to put the middle school into the high school. The entire grading setup is flat out stupid. Literally, someone could not do any homework …show more content…
A thing that students take maybe 5 times,if that, per trimester makes up 50% of the grade. While homework, which is done pretty much everyday depending on the class, makes up 20%. Some teachers will even complain when students don’t do their homework, why should a student be motivated to do a 20 problem assignment when it will count for like .00000001% of the final grade. Which is worse, the few tests the count for 50% of the grade, or the one test that could for 20%. The final exam isn’t a very likable thing either. They expect students to remember things from the beginning of the trimester? At least all that has some sort of meaning, the most pointless part of the day has to be OT. It’s 30 minutes of busy work, seriously what is the point in that? Who thought OT would be a good idea? The trimester system has made that better though. Most of it won’t even matter in about 6 years time. It doesn’t even matter being a senior, because even when you’re “done”, you’re not. High school is pretty much useless, because if you want to make any sort of money in this world 9 times out of 10 some sort of college degree will

The film 13th directed by Ava DuVernay is a documentary about the direct and indirect slavery of African Americans ever since the first African was taken away from his or her home land in the seventeenth century. The title, “13th”, refers to the 13th amendment which was supposedly passed to abolish slavery and the 150 years of unfair treatment that occurred even after that amendment was ratified. This documentary’s purpose is to showcase all the unacceptable events that blacks have been through for the past hundreds of years and to emphasize that all lives matter including those of people of color. 13th displays how unfair treatment evolved from slavery to unnecessary imprisonment to segregation to being seen as a threat by the community.…

My advice to makayla is to never get stuck on one question no longer than five minutes. It's okay to skip a question and come back to it later once you have answer all of the other questions. It's also okay to guess intelligently on some of the questions. I feel that you shouldn't always linger on the same questions, because that can cause you to loose most of you time on the test. John When writing I think John should just write everything out first step-by-step.…

The school is laid out in a convenient manner with the offices, gym, library, and cafeteria fairly close to one another and not integrated into the class room area of the school. This keeps areas that may provide noise or distraction from interfering with a child’s classroom experience. Also the grades were somewhat separated and grouped together. The younger children's grades are located on the ground floor which is easier then having a young child walk up the stairs multiple times every day to reach the library, cafeteria, or classroom.…

However while these tests when only taking about an hour to take are using instruction time for test preparation. For example, “many schools imposed extra measures to avoid being shut down, including daily two and a half hour prep sessions and test practice on vacation days” (ProCon). Since testing scores are so important to schools they put test preparation above anything else. Furthermore the tests are expensive.…

Students are being put through long hours of coloring in circles and racking their brain for memorized answers. These tests make many students dread going to school. If you ask a group of students why they hate school, they would tell you because they’re not actually learning anything, just memorizing the necessities for a good test score. If teachers didn’t have to worry about the tests, they would actually be able to teach the students. The amount of students who like school would increase because they would be learning material necessary to their future careers and…

Despite the new outburst of year-round schooling across the nation, I have the firm belief that we should retain the traditional system. Most schools who have switched to the year round calendar switched back to the traditional one because the anticipated instructional advantages haven’t materialized. In some cases, it even results in a drop of one to two percentile points in national rank for reading, math, and language scores, compared to a traditional calendar. It is not a good idea to keep making this change.…

The good thing about this schools that I like is will motivate the students and tell them what exactly what to do also the teacher would help and see what every student is doing but the only thing is that the teacher do not gives any ideas to students when a students are not sure about an answer for a question. Also the teacher does not have the control of the classroom when students get noisy or get up from their desk. Some students are noisy and annoying and it’s very hard for a person to deal with so many students at the same time when they are noisy. I remember back in the days in high school some of the student were noisy and annoying or just throwing papers and it was hard for a teacher to take the control of the class. She just called the securities from the school to take them out the class.…
