Multi - Colored Clouds Clouds often signify barriers that are obstructing people from seeing, what may literally be right before their eyes. They symbolize covers as they themselves cover the sky. Clouds also share symbolism with water and air, as those are the components that they are produced from, resulting in symbols of clear thinking and emotional purity. Anthony Doerr uses the motif of clouds and cloud imagery to convey pathetic fallacies in his characters’ conflicts throughout Memory Wall. For every step in the problem solving processes in the stories, there are different cloud formations and occasionally colors that represent these steps.…

Combine a smoldering hot day that’s well over one hundred degrees, the suns blinding light high above the sky, and fields of peppers that range from different colors like red and yellow, to make one of the most vivid childhood memories that I still remember perfectly to this day. I was almost nine years old the first time I went hand in hand with my dad into work to pick my first harvest. Within the first hour of work after only filling a few baskets of peppers, I could already feel my muscles begin to burn and beads of sweat roll down my face. It was then, that I looked at my dad and saw that he seemed to be as tired as me because I could start to hear him breathe a little heavier and saw his shirt was already drenched in sweat more so then…

Background Considerable biologic evidence supports the importance of estrogen to cognitive function. Some studies have investigated the use of hormone replacement therapy (HRT) to reduce the risk of developing dementia. However, data from the Women's Health Initiative (WHI) and the WHI Memory Study (WHIMS) do not support these observations, and suggest that estrogen replacement does not protect against dementia and may increase the risk. This topic is controversial and now discussed. Our study aimed to re-examine the association between brain pathology and hormonal receptors in elderly women with Alzheimer disease (AD).…
