After everyone ate and everyone changed we performed at the daily plaza with a nice size crowd and at that performance I understand why everyone calls Chicago “The Windy City”. After we packed up our performance and changed I gracefully found my jacket I put in my carry on bag since our next stop was the navy pier. After an evening filled with food and evil pigeons stealing food from everyone, the busses brought us to our hotel and we unloaded the busses and collected our room keys to shower and get ready for dinner at Medieval Times. With the first day under our belt we felt like we all could accomplish

For many parents, the birth of a new child brings joy and glee. However for my father, I was a burden made by his late-night illegal activities. West Englewood is an area many people have not heard of - it’s tucked inside the southwest side of Chicago. During the day, the people of Englewood would wake up to the smell and sound of gunshots and burning tyres. Police officers would parade the streets in their well-ironed uniforms and the alleys would be covered with bright and colourful graffiti of sayings and images, which I didn’t understand at the time.…

We couldn’t wait to bust out of the schools doors and claim our prize of a short freedom for surviving another busy, exhausting, and slow week of middle school. I rushed to my locker, grabbed everything I would need for the homework due Monday, threw it in my bag and headed down the hall collecting my friends to walk to town to start what I would hope would be a slow but fun weekend off The weekend went quicker than I wished and before I knew it, it was late Sunday night and I still hadn’t done my homework, I realized this and got to work.…
