I not only lived on my own, but I thought on my own as well. As I went to Governor’s School for math, I realized that before the experience I always thought that math was a simple subject. High School math problems had seemed specialized and of no use other than to pass a class; however, the applications that were found by students at Governor’s School amount to much more in everyday life. The first day I was given a circle where I was then instructed to form a triangular tetrahedron. From there I was given the radius of the circle and was instructed to find, for myself, the area of the tetrahedron as well as an equation for the area of any triangular tetrahedron given the radius of the circle.
