The writing literacy objective for Brockton High School requires the students to argue a thesis and support one’s thinking. We did this by choosing whether or not The Ugly Duckling was appropriate for children to read. For this writing assignment we were required to provide evidence and explain our reasoning. Writing this essay was one of my favorites, because it allowed me to think more about my personal views and morals as an individual. I enjoy debating with people and hearing their personal opinions, so this writing objective wasn’t hard for me. In fact, it was fun for me to write.
