High School Failure

To be truly honest with you, I never really thought I would even graduate from high school. I essentially failed everything in 9th grade, due to family problems, I never showed up to my classes, I barely did anything that a student was supposed to do. Instead, I was working full time at the age of 14 turning 15 at Tim Hortons. Why? Because that was my way of surviving when I was left alone by my family. My father went to jail and my mother moved out to be with someone else, I had to keep working so I could pay the bills, and have something to serve for myself on the table. The school didn’t matter to me, I was blinded by the amount of money I was earning. Now, I’m not really the type of student who would get 80’s or 90’s. I was the average, who has to work my hardest to get that 60’s. …show more content…
I didn’t really care, that’s why I didn’t bother to upgrade anything. I told myself, I don’t need to go to college or university I’m already earning enough money to sustain myself. In the middle of 11th grade, I was put into foster care, my teachers were worried about me as to why I’m not showing up to class or most of the time I would skip going to work. I had to move here in Lethbridge from Fort Macleod and switch schools. It was such a big adjustment for me, there are a lot more people here and it’s a lot bigger compared to my little small town. I met a lot of people who inspired me to push myself and do better. These people opened my mind to how education is important in our life, it’s like an anatomy, part of us that is important and without it we’re not
