Three specific classes that stood out to me in the four-year journey: Computer Literature, Communications, and Theater. Computer literature taught me a plethora of business skills that would help me get a job. For example, I was taught that a pleasant first impression could take you a long way. In other words, dressing professionally will be a good first step. Communication Skills taught me good speech techniques. Those techniques aided me in theater class for when I had to rehearse scripts. Furthermore, theater class nurtured my love for drama. Proverb 18:16 says “ A man's gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men”. That tells me that I have to continue practicing my craft in order to become better at it. One day, while searching for colleges to attend for my interest in acting, I came upon one particular college that stood out to me. The opening web page of the University of Louisiana-Lafayette states the following: “In our performing arts program, you will engage in intensive study of theater and dance to express your unique vision of the world around you.” It reminded me of the definition of drama, which means a composition in verse that is intended to portray life.
