This graph shows the number of teenage mothers who did not receive a high school diploma or GED. According to figure one, Latino mothers have the greatest number of high school dropout rates. Followed by them, the graph shows white mothers at 45% and black mothers at 33%. Considering the number is high as it is, schools need to be involved more to prevent all teenage parents, mothers and fathers from having to resort to dropping out of school.
Another reason why schools should do more to prevent pregnancy is because it doesn't only affect girls. Most teens learn about STIs and HIV in school, but not about contraception.Contraception is basically the prevention of ovulation forming in a female body. Taking care of a baby and working is hard.
A pregnant teen can only keep a job due to the nature of the work . If a young mom is only able to get their GED her future salary is already diverted from a person with a diploma .“A female won't be able to go to school/work the last trimester of her pregnancy” (TDS admin 1).The sentence says that if she gets her GED and is pregnant her paycheck will be smaller .The quote stating that during the pregnancy the last trimester will be spent at the hospital .Taxpayer money has been funding abstinence-only-until-marriage education since the Reagan era. Teenagers bodies are also not fully developed, which is causing pregnancy to place strain on their bodies. In addition, teenagers are also placing limitations on their future career choices once they find out they are pregnant. It is important for teenangers to understand the importance of practicing safer sexual behaviors, so we can decrease the teenage pregnancy rate. Children are the future of America. They’re not being children anymore. Children are having the become parents earlier and earlier. Let’s get involved in the lives of our children by teaching them prevention methods when being sexually
