I disagree that a person should be required to have a high school diploma because not all people have a chance to finish high school. Most people have to support a family and have to get a job. Without the responsibility of being trusted a teenager can not get a job to help support themselves or help the family without the access to a car. In order to have a car you have to have a license. Argument Over the past 20 years, in-state tuition and fees at public National Universities, have increased a ridiculous 296 percent, according to U.S. News. This increase has made receiving a higher education extremely difficult for lower middle class and poorer families. A messy bedroom, Arctic Monkeys as background music, and an adolescent begrudgingly writing an essay for their twelfth grade English class is the current scene. This is the perspective of a senior; an absolutely glamorous time in life. It's an alarming thought that my high school career has brought me to this point as I search my mind for the correct words to advise you and my fingers tap away at my small keyboard. I'm supposed to give advice and guidance to the future graduates of our beloved Quincy High School, but there's little I can give that can be completely relatable to all. For example, I was raised by a single father, am a part-time cashier, and can barely figure out how the Pythagorean theorem will actually affect my adult life.…

Hall-Dale Middle School vs. Hall-Dale High School The transition from middle school to high school can be extremely difficult for some, as there are many differences between the two. “The switch to high school can be disastrous if a child doesn 't make the transition smoothly -- more kids fail ninth grade than any other grade.” There are similarities, but the differences outnumber the similarities greatly. Middle schoolers for the most part are partaking in a difficult and confusing time in their lives, as puberty is ongoing.…

Graduation speech Juan C “Nothing is over until the moment you stop trying.”- Bryan Dyson Being Comfortable has been a real struggle for me these past years i’ve been here in holmes.6th grade for a 5th grader is scary, not knowing what is coming for you. 7th grade becomes easier because you already have an idea of how junior high is. 8th is all about reflecting over 6th and 7th grade. But it’s not always about problems, stress and sadness, there's also good times, like when we went to camp duncan in 6th grade, when I performed in the V-Show in 7th grade,…

Have you ever driven past a homeless person and thought to yourself, where in life did this person go wrong? I know everyone has a different story, but I feel as though all homeless people deserve a second chance to better their lives. To help with this, I think the public should offer special assistance and resources to homeless people. Homeless people should be offered resources to go back to school, if needed, financial support and financial management, as well as reliable transportation to the interviews, and temporary lodging. How does one go from having a job, home, car, etc.…

The Concreted Declaration of the Students of Rowland High School, When in course of human events, it becomes necessary for the school to dismiss the compulsory nature of the school system, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the free and lenient station which the Laws of Nature and of the country entitle them, an adequate respect to the opinions of students demands that they should declare the causes which impel them to dislike school as a whole. We hold these truths to be pronounced: that all students are created equal, that they are given by their Creator the rights of Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness, and that they have been enduring the harsh and stressful environment of school for as long as they have. In order for…

Although many people believe that people should get their driver's licenses before he or she receives their diploma, I disagree with that people that agree that a person shouldn’t have a high school diploma before they get a drivers licenses. First I disagree because many of today's people start to drop out. Every year over 1.2 million students in high school drop out or 7000 a day in The United States. If that many don't get their diploma then they aren't going to be able to drive to their workplace or if they are on the road and get spotted by an Officer then they will be fined just because of the bill.…

Although many people believe that a person should have their high school diploma before he or she gets their driver's license, but I disagree because you can be sixteen to get your driver’s license and some people are eighteen before they get there high school diploma. I don’t think that you should have a high school diploma before you get your driver’s because when kids turn sixteen they want to start doing things for themselves, and they don’t want their parents driving them around when the 20 because they didn’t get their high school diploma. When you turn sixteen you want to go to your friends parties, and it would be embarrassing if you show up with your parents coming to drop you off and leaving, then when the party was over it might be one in the morning on a Sunday morning then you would have to wait for your parents to show and drive you back home.…

In the United States, the education system has used exit exams in various structures since the 1970’s. During the 1980’s, states started executing exit exams to assess students essential abilities in reading and arithmetic. Teachers have rarely been an integral part in the creating of exit exams. Near 1973 and 1983, the quantity of states that actualized a statewide exit exam expanded from two-thirty- four, yet not each state made passing the exam a prerequisite for graduation (Myers 1).…
