Times have changed since old high school days of playground bullying. The cruel actions of cyberbullying have gone viral, becoming a digital playground for bullies, attacking teenagers, and causing many to commit suicide. Over 4500 kids commit suicide each year due to bullying. Cyberbullying is bullying that takes place using electronic technology, which includes using devices and equipment such as cell phones, computers, and tablets as well as communication tools including social media sites, text messages, chat, and websites (stopbullying.gov2014).
Teenagers are using this to threaten and harass other teens by sending threating messages, posting embarrassing pictures of the victims on social media websites; such as Facebook, Myspace, and Twitter. Bullies my even go as far as creating a “fake” account on these websites pretending to be the victims. This of which causes the victims to feel humiliated and exposed due to how fast this information spread so quickly with the use of the digital devices. Most that are targeted are lesbians, gays, bisexuals, or transgender students whom are usually enrolled in elementary or high school.
Cyberbullying is very similar to real-life bullying but the difference is real-life bullying ends when the school bell rings, were cyberbullying continues into the computer world. Online bullying and harassment can be easier to commit than other acts of bullying because the bully doesn 't have to confront his or her target in person. There is no…
