Looking back on it, on how I got to where I am. I don't know how i did it, when you run into something ,with the power to knock you down- you get back up! I've considered myself a sort of mellow guy, but I can be very intense. It's funny because you can't tell by looking at me. Most people say they can't read me, but I think i am a fairly simple guy.…

That afternoon my parents decide to go fishing while my sister and I went swimming. The sun was so bright it felt like it was 100 degrees outside but as I walked I could feel the fresh water on my feet I careful stepped on the rock hoping they would be sharp enough to cut me. As I walked in deeper into the clear blue lake I felt my skin getting colder which I loved. Then later that day my parents began to prepare some dinner, I began to smell the aroma of hamburger meat, which made my mouth watered with hunger. While the sun went down my dad started to set up a bonfire.…

After my mom got divorced we moved out of Alaska, where I was born, and lived in a lot of different places and states, most of them I am too young to remember, and moving in with my aunt and various other family members. Finally we moved to Ohio when I was in 5th grade and set up a permite home, where I meet my 3 best friends. I was hesitant to get attached but they were such characters that there was no way I couldn’t. Zero was the first people I meet and the first time I saw him he was crawling into my window while I was crying, after being yelled at by some horribly rude people at my school, and just announced that I shouldn’t listen to those meanies and we watched movies and shows the rest of the night, to this day I have no idea why he went through the window and didn 't just introduce himself through the front door, and we were friends ever since. The next was Derek who I meet when he got all beaten up and bloody kicking the crap out of bullies that were making fun of me.…

While we was sitting in this little class room about to sweat to death we wait until our coaches tell us what to do. Everyone looked up to these coaches for some reason and I wanted to find out why. While we was sitting in this meeting talking about what we need for tryouts I started getting sick and thinking to myself who was going to make this team. I just wanted to make this team so bad and I…

Growing up I was always the tallest kid in the class. Whenever class picture day rolled around, I knew that I was in the front of the line because of my height. It was somewhat embarrassing when all the boys were shorter than I, and the girls made me feel bad for how out of place I was. Not only did my height provide social awkwardness, it also administered the constant, never ending struggle of finding garments long enough. Whenever my mom or grandmothers wanted to take me back to school shopping, I made excuses of “I don’t need any more habiliments” or “I do not feel good, all of the sudden…”…

Exhilarating: a term making one feel very happy, animated, or elated, would be the perfect word to describe what the day had in store for us eager, and jubilant grade 6 students. A thrilled and luminous smile lit up on my enthusiastic face as I ambled on the same rugged, cracked, gray tinted sidewalk that I had sauntered on everyday for a year. The serene, endless sky was the perfect shade of aqua as the light, silky, radiant clouds formed delicate shapes. The sun was glistening with great luminosity. Suddenly I heard someone screaming my name well not really; it was my nickname, one that really agitated me in an incredibly obnoxious way, “Babikathu wait up”.…

Track and field has been the highlight of my high school life. The social aspect, the large assortment of events from which to choose, and the people I met are things I will always treasure. I especially loved the fact that there was always a place for everyone. If you weren’t too quick, then discus was your event. If you could build up quick bursts of speed, long and triple jumps suited you.…

As I went to my first day of school in a new city I was nervous, I didn't know if I was going to make any new friends, if I was going to fit in. The first day began and I immediately met Randy and Byanca, little did I know at the time that they would be my friends for all of my school career. Time went by and so did the grade levels, I would always struggle with one subject and thrive in another. During my elementary and middle school years I would struggle in language arts and history, but I would thrive in mathematics mainly because I love numbers.…

“Don’t forget, the paper is due next Wednesday!” My 8th period teacher, Mrs. Oakford told to my class and I as we streamed out of the cramped classroom on a Friday. We couldn’t wait to bust out of the schools doors and claim our prize of a short freedom for surviving another busy, exhausting, and slow week of middle school. I rushed to my locker, grabbed everything I would need for the homework due Monday, threw it in my bag and headed down the hall collecting my friends to walk to town to start what I would hope would be a slow but fun weekend off The weekend went quicker than I wished and before I knew it, it was late Sunday night and I still hadn’t done my homework, I realized this and got to work.…

Being a high school student is composed of restless nights, and eight exhausting hours of classes in which you are obligated to stay awake in. A normal school day begins with me snoozing my alarm about ten times before my dad walks into my room telling me the dreaded “time to get up for school” reminder which I just take as a suggestion. Normally I will drag myself into the bathroom about ten minutes later to begin my routine. I spend about 40 minutes in the bathroom preparing myself for school and by the time I am done it is usually time to grab all of my things and barely catch the bus. Now this has to be my least favorite part of the day.…

When I moved to Springfield Township from Cheltenham Township, I really despised the sudden change. I disliked almost everything about it but what I did not know at the time is that by my senior year I would eventually love this school as I molded it into a place that I wanted to be at. During the end of my freshmen year, I found myself with a new view of how I was going to cultivate at Springfield Township High School. After meeting a valuable presence that will have forever leave an imprint on me, I decided that I needed to get involved with school to become apart of it. From that moment, the following year, I signed up for the Academic Team meanwhile continuing the Word Language Club which I had joined Freshmen Year and Girl Scouts which…

High school. People say it’s either the best or worst four years of your life. Of course they never give you the details of what makes them the worst or best years. When entering junior high, we were constantly reminded by teachers, parents, and school administrators how different it was from elementary school. It was supposed to be the start of a transition from childhood to young adulthood, and though I discounted many of these sentiments at the time, looking back it certainly was. In an instant, it seemed, everyone started swearing and the hallways began to smell of a putrid mixture of not enough or too much cologne. For the first time we had to change before gym, no one really sure whether it was more socially acceptable to change in a bathroom stall or feign confidence by doing it out in the open. Talk swirled of who got their periods, who was wearing what bra size, and which boys needed to stop cultivating…
