The second assembly started out with the band playing. They began playing the Earthquake song. Immediately the audience was excited and ready for the assembly to start. The gym was decorated with many different posters. I saw a poster with an alien and blue and green stripes in the background, the seniors class poster had a tie dye design, the juniors poster had two sandals that had the number seventeen in the middle of them, and the sophomores poster just said two k eighteen, and the freshman's one said two k nineteen with some beach designs in the background. The side of the bleachers were decorated with balloons. I also noticed some ASB members wore polo shirts that had island and beach designs on them.
Once they started the assembly the cheerleaders started cheerleading. After them the Sparteens were up. They danced to military music and there dance it made up of various choreographies. The danced from side to side, jazzed their hands, made a circle on the gym floor, and ended with the splits. The dance was well done I didn’t see any mistakes. It was a very different type of dance than what they normally perform during the past assemblies. The band played again and everyone was enjoying the music. While playing the

They played What Time Is It by High School Musical. The cheerleaders and ASB members joined and danced to it. Most of the students remembered the song pretty well because most of us grew up watching High School Musical and listened to their music. The loudest part of the performance was when one of the ASB members asked a girl to prom. The audience was gushing and clapping a lot when they saw it. Lastly they announced the prom candidates. The prom candidates were Kevin Galvan, Reyna, Paula Navarro, and Carlos Matta. Overall the audience was pleased with the assembly. I overheard many people saying it was one of the best assemblies they have attended and that it was pretty

He played a lot of songs currently playing on the radio and hit songs that everyone would know. One of the keys to social dance, I think, is to play songs that the large majority of the crowd knows, so that they are able to sing and dance more easily because they are familiar with the music. A medley of Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Closer, and various other top of the chart songs were…

The Pep Rally routine was a mash up of songs from various artists. Song choices ranged from Fight Night by Migos, Mercy by Kanye West, Thinking Out Loud by Ed Sheeran. The music choices were edited well to blend and fit together, though an older age group may not appreciate the electronics of the music as much as a younger crowd does. The first piece of choreography, Goodnight Moon, was a jazz routine and was a conventional piece. It is evident in the performances which dancers have years of dance experience and which do not.…

After the flags passed, two baton twirlers preceded the rest of the SIU cheerleaders. The baton twirlers performed a coordinated routine which started with the music played by the Salukis Marching band. These two twirlers rotated their batons very fast, then they tossed them into the air and jumped to catch it before it dropped to the floor. Then three rows of cheerleaders who were wearing a very sophisticated uniform made with the SIU colors, maroon, black and white, passed. Their uniforms are beautiful, their tops are divided in two sections, one section is maroon, the other is black with a very delicate white embroidery with an asymmetrical shape, the same top motif is used for the belt that covers most of the cheerleaders' midriffs.…

As a result, I did not know what to expect as I watched the meeting. I was shocked to find out that prior to the actual meeting they hold academic highlights and recognitions. I think it is sad that there are not many people there but at least students are being recognized from their accomplishments. I think this is great and shows what is being done in the school system especially with the Proud Tour. I do think that the official meeting was rather confusing.…

The music was loud and I had to put earplugs in just to make it through the performance. The dancers were clapping their hands, posing, as the 80’s music played. The female performer with the purple and gold dress had a great catwalk. She was one of the best performers in that piece. “Intervertebral” by Cari K. Cunningham was really good.…

At that age, I wasn’t expected to be good it was more just for the “cute factor”. Right before we went on I was so nervous, and I remember when I first walked out in front of all those people I suddenly froze and was just memorized by all the lights shining directly into my eyes. After we danced I watched the older kids dance and I thought they were so cool because they all did their dance insync. From then on I wanted to be exactly like them…

Every day, I try to listen to a new piece of music. Whether it be a string group, unaccompanied choir, or even a percussion consort, I believe that by doing this, so much can be learned from just listening. About the mid-month of July, I came across this piece of music. I thought it was extremely fun and quirky at the same time! I had continued to listen to it, read some background information on the piece, and do a small amount of study on the work.…

Going into this event I didn’t expect much. I had never heard of Manuel Munoz and honestly didn’t care for him. Brutal as that sound, I actually came to like him. He was a funny man whom had an interesting childhood and life story. He also had a sense of humor in his stories so I actually enjoyed his event.…

During the final week of classes at Truman, I had the pleasure of hearing the school’s jazz bands in concert. During the concert, the Jazz Lab band and the Jazz Ensemble, both directed by Tim AuBuchon, played several jazz standards and modern favorites. The Jazz Lab band started out the night with five big band pieces. The instrumentation of the Jazz Lab band was standard for a big band; it included about four of each horn (saxophone, trumpet, and trombone), an upright bass, a piano, and a drumset.…

Standing there waiting for the music to come on the judges were staring at us like they was hawks trying to find them food. The music came on and I swear my jaws were going to break from smiling so hard and so wide. After the dance we had to move on to the cheer. During that week we learned it they told us we needed to us our man voices and to be so sharp. 5,6,7,8, the cheer was called.…

Bach Mass in B Minor music concert at Converse College, featuring a performance by the Spartanburg Festival Chorus. I enjoyed the musical selections performed by the chorus and saw a few familiar faces of some of my classmates at the concert as well. The venue of the concert was very nice and a lot of older people attended the concert.…

(The Entertainer) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JSpoVH0c-Dw I will expect the students to respond with yes that’s the ice cream truck song. I would go on to explain that this song is one of many songs written by Scott Joplin and is part of a music style known as ragtime. II.…

The Spring Dance Concert was absolutely phenomenal, everyone dedicated their passion into the show! Personally, my favorite(s) were the senior pieces especially the other shows. That is to say, I liked the theme of “Muddy Waters” along with the costume, choreography, and overall it’s outstanding. “Burlesque” is amazing I loved the choreography because it’s sassy, which fits with the costume.…

My mood was jubilant that day because I was glad I came to that performance instead of staying home. I would have felt home sick with all that final review so it was pleasant and peaceful having entertainment for such a low cost but great performance. The movements I identified were a lot of the terms I went over in dance class from degage to grand battement, the list goes all over. The name of the performance should be called “The Art of Adventure” and it should be divided into subgenres which focuses on the main theme adventure. Adventure can be dim or bright but they always seem to have a long lasting well produced ending.…
