This year the Rock Port High School football and basketball cheerleaders hosted a cheer clinic for elementary girls. Preschool through sixth grade girls were invited to attend cheer camp. The cheerleaders made up a dance for the girls to learn during the practices. The elementary girls had practice on Saturday, October 1st; Thursday, October 6th; and Friday, October 7th. The girls performed that Friday night during the halftime of the football game. The little cheerleaders performed two cheers, a dance, and the older girls were able to perform the school song. The Rock Port band played the school song for the fourth, fifth, and sixth grade girls.
On Saturday, the high school cheerleaders arrived at the elementary gymnasium at 8:30 am to greet the younger girls with smiles. The preschool through third grade session was from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm. The fourth grade through sixth grade session was from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. The high school cheerleaders taught the girls a dance, two cheers, and the school song. These girls also were able to learn how to stunt. The fifth and sixth grade girls loved to stunt with their peers. The girls enjoyed a break with cookies donated from Subway. The first day of the cheer clinic was a success.

The crowd was fascinated with the young girl's execution of the cheer. The girls were very nervous, but performed cheerfully to the large audience. After school, the high school cheerleaders led the elementary girls to the elementary gymnasium. The young girls were prepared for the big night. They reviewed just how they would perform at the football game. All of the girls received a blue and white sparkly cheer bow. At the football game the girls presented a great show to the large crowd. The community members were impressed with the girl’s
