Throughout my high school career, I have acquired a great amount of experience in preparation for many of the aspects of a successful college career. For example, I have developed a deeper understanding of the value of an education and have worked hard to receive money to fund my education. My family has always taught independence; thus, obtaining the funds for my education has been solely my responsibility. I have no other help, except scholarships and financial aid. I feel this scholarship suits me because I am not one to give up until my goals are attained and, currently, my goal is to have little to no student debt when graduating from college.
When pursuing my career I plan to go to Casper College, and earn an Associate’s degree in radiography. During my first year of college, I will complete any prerequisites required for the radiography program and finish any general education classes that I did not finish in high school. During my second year of college, I will be completely immersed in the program, including, classroom work with the radiology professor and clinical hours in a hospital setting. When I am in my third year of college, the radiology classes will become increasingly more difficult, although, as a student I will receive more clinical hours. I used to dream of being a surgeon. I have dissected frogs starting at the young age of eight, and have since then worked on squids and cats as well. I was always the frontrunner of my group and loved cutting into these organisms to see their intricate setup of organs and the intertwining of the organ systems. I further confirmed this belief through the hit TV series, Grey’s Anatomy; the successes and struggles of those surgeons were an inspiration. However, my outlook on my future career and goals changed entirely after being exposed to some exposures – but before I get ahead of myself, I’ll start at the beginning.…
