As a longtime Golden State Warriors fanatic, I am ecstatic to see that the organization is offering members of Warrior Nation the opportunity to join the team as a part of its summer internship program. I was personally encouraged to apply by personal mentor and former 2013 summer Digital Marketing Intern, Mr. Benjamin Trinh. Over the past several years I have seen the Golden State Warriors, through a lot of hard work, grow from being the pride of Northern California into being the model organization in the league. It is this same diligence and passion which embodies who I am and pushes me to continuously grow as an individual. After speaking with Ben, I extensively reviewed the online application.…

Tires crunched on the loose gravel parking lot as I was dropped off at my high school’s tennis courts on the first day of school. With my high school requiring a year of physical education, I opted to take the lifetime sport for I was nervous to compete for a spot on the highly competitive teams my school was known for. I was met at the court by 30 other freshmen with a mixed variety of expertise spanning from the first time to ever hold a racquet to a district ranked player. The district ranked player’s father, Mr. Weaver, was a sophomore chemistry teacher who happened to play tennis professionally in his heyday. Mr. Weaver volunteered to teach the freshman tennis team and to train them the basics before they were transferred to “the real…

For a long time high schools have had sports teams and art programs and they started out with equal funding but over the years sports teams started receiving more funding while the arts clubs received less. Why do they give more funding to the sports teams, it might be that if you walk into a classroom there will likely be a lot of students talking about sports or athletes and only a few who are talking about a musical or art festival so, the school board might think that only a few students like the arts programs and everyone else like sports but, that's not true. There is a lot of pressure for boys to join the sports team because their father of brother want them to be just like them, so most boys will join the team and not actively participate so they are just wasting the schools money when it could be going to the art programs.…

Los Angeles Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak have recently intimated that the team needs a center to compensate for their lack of ceiling and a veteran point guard to provide backup minutes and guidance for their young spitfire duo of Jordan Clarkson and D’Angelo Russell, according to Basketball Insiders. Kupchak may have suddenly realized that there is only one full NBA season of experience between Clarkson and Russell and so both playmakers would need direction not only on the court but more importantly off it as well. As always, the expectations by the fans and media are high for the Lakers’ youthful backcourt and the management might have recognized the “extra care” that the two players need. While Kobe Bryant could provide the leadership…
