High school athletics have had an enormous impact on my life. It has made me into the man I am today. High school athletics taught an immature, out-of-control boy how to be a young man. I was able to be mentored by many influential coaches. These coaches taught me how to be respectful , to persevere, and to have a good work ethic. They have instilled the attitude that anything worth having is worth putting in the time and extra effort. These skills have helped me be successful in school. Before high school athletics, I had behavior problems and was an unmotivated student. During my athletic career, I started to see a total change.
